Effective date: 2 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Syntaxe LTD for the use of Bolus and Bolus Pro. They include an End User Licence Agreement and Terms of Use. Please read them before you use the app. By downloading, installing, or using Bolus, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Bolus.
We have written these terms plainly. They are still a legal agreement, so where a section sets out a limit or an exclusion, it means what it says.
1. Who we are
Bolus is made by Syntaxe LTD, a company registered in England and Wales. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Syntaxe LTD. “You” means the person using the app.
2. Licence to use Bolus
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Bolus on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
This licence covers the free version of Bolus and, if you buy it, Bolus Pro.
You may use Bolus to manage your own medications, and to manage a family member’s medication through Family Profiles, where you are entitled to do so.
3. What the licence does not allow
You agree not to:
- copy, sell, rent, sub-licence, or redistribute Bolus, except as these terms allow;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or bundled database, except to the limited extent the law permits and cannot exclude;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or ownership notices;
- use Bolus to build a competing product or database;
- share, resell, or transfer a Bolus Pro licence to another person;
- use Bolus in any unlawful way, or in a way that could harm the service or other users.
4. Bolus is decision support, not a medical device
This is the most important part of these terms.
Bolus is informational decision-support software. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
Bolus does not replace your pharmacist, doctor, or other healthcare professional. Always confirm with a qualified professional before you start, stop, or change any medication, dose, or schedule.
Bolus is not for emergencies. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or seek urgent medical help.
The information in Bolus may be incomplete, may not cover every product or interaction, and may not apply to your individual circumstances. You are responsible for the decisions you make about your health.
Please also read our Medical Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
5. Buying Bolus Pro
Bolus Pro is a paid upgrade. You can buy it as a yearly subscription or as a one-time lifetime licence, at the prices shown at the time of purchase.
The one-time Bolus Pro licence is a single payment for a licence tied to your use of the app, subject to these terms. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
Where you buy Bolus Pro on the web, payment is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. After purchase, your device receives or imports a signed licence, which it can verify offline. We do not store your card details.
6. Refunds
Bolus Pro is bought directly from us, so refunds are handled by us. You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting us at the address in section 12.
7. Downloading from the App Store and Google Play
Bolus is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Downloading and installing the app is also governed by Apple’s or Google’s own terms.
Bolus Pro is not sold through in-app purchase. You buy Bolus Pro directly from us through Stripe, and that purchase is governed by these terms, not by an app store’s payment or refund rules.
8. Intellectual property
Bolus, including its software, engine, bundled medication database, design, text, and branding, is owned by Syntaxe LTD or its licensors, and is protected by intellectual property law.
These terms give you a licence to use Bolus. They do not transfer any ownership to you.
Beers Criteria® is a registered mark of the American Geriatrics Society. Other names and marks referenced in Bolus belong to their respective owners.
9. No warranty
Bolus is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows.
We do not warrant that Bolus will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or that its information will be accurate or suitable for your particular situation. Medicine information changes over time, and no database can be complete.
Nothing in these terms removes or limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Syntaxe LTD is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Bolus.
You remain responsible for your own medical decisions, made with the advice of a qualified professional.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the app or to the law. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Bolus after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
